Arellano es un pueblo situado a los pies de Montejurra. Se organiza en dos barrios bien definidos. El Barrio Alto, de trazado medieval, se encarama en la colina dominado por la silueta de la iglesia. Tiene calles estrechas y sinuosas que conservan la memoria del pasado. El Barrio Bajo, más abierto y ordenado, se articula en torno a plazas y edificios civiles que hablan del crecimiento del pueblo a lo largo de los siglos.
Arellano guarda uno de los conjuntos artísticos más singulares de Navarra: su iglesia parroquial de San Román, completamente recubierta de pintura mural, convierte el interior del templo en una experiencia visual única. A esto se suma una antigua torre atalaya, vestigio defensivo que refuerza el carácter estratégico del lugar y su relación histórica con el territorio.
Pero si hay un elemento que conecta Arellano con una historia aún más antigua es la Villa Romana de las Musas, situada a pocos kilómetros del casco urbano. Este yacimiento arqueológico, integrado en la Red Nacional de Villas Romanas de Hispania, permite comprender cómo se producía el vino hace dos mil años y revela el origen romano del propio nombre del municipio.
A lo largo del año, las fiestas y celebraciones religiosas marcan el ritmo de la vida local. Destaca la devoción a San Román en el verano y, de forma excepcional, la presencia de las reliquias de San Veremundo, que solo se exponen cada cinco años y refuerzan el vínculo histórico entre Arellano y Villatuerta.
