Monjardín Castle
A circular route to Monjardín Castle, offering stunning views of Tierra Estella and the Montejurra area.
We start the walk from the square in Villamayor de Monjardín. We head towards the upper part of the village and take a wide path that climbs up towards the castle of San Esteban de Deyo, also known as Monjardín Castle.
First, we follow the gentle southern slope of this small hill towards the west. The path then turns eastwards and climbs to the top, where the ruins of the old castle and an exceptional viewpoint over Tierra Estella await us.
To descend, we have the option of taking a steeper, more rugged path, which shortens the return journey to Villamayor de Monjardín.
