Sustainable Alloz
A circular route alongside the Alloz reservoir, taking in villages, heritage sites and the natural landscapes of the Yerri and Guesálaz valleys.
The circular route around the Alloz reservoir starts at the car park of the Guesálaz sports centre in Muez. First, we walk along the eastern side of the reservoir and head downstream, passing through the villages of Esténoz, Muzqui and Irurre in the Guesálaz Valley. Before reaching Irurre, we have the option of stopping off at the Lerate bathing area.
We then reach the vicinity of the Alloz reservoir dam and, leaving it behind, enter the Yerri Valley whilst walking along the western side of the reservoir. We head towards the village of Alloz, where there are a few inclines, and then continue to the car park at Ugar Bay. We then reach the village of Ugar, after which we encounter an ascent towards Villanueva de Yerri. Here, we have the option of taking a detour to the chapel of San Cristóbal. Finally, the route continues to Villanueva de Yerri and returns to the starting point in Muez.
