The Shepherds
A circular cycle route along the pastoral paths of Lezaun, through beech forests, the Sierra de Andía and the Trinidad Chapel.
We start the circular cycle route at the car park of the municipal pelota court in Lezaun. We head towards the northern part of the village and take the old Riezu track. After cycling for about 1 km and crossing the stream, we continue along a narrow path through beech and oak woods. We gradually climb along the Camino de la Trinidad, surrounded by beech woods, up to the open ground just before the Sierra de Andía. We continue along the watershed and pass the summit of Oskandia, at 1,215 m, following its ridge to the Trinidad chapel.
At this point, we head north along the Zaborrate path, passing the Orzaran reservoir, and after about 100m, just before the Zaborrate barns, we take a junction heading west. We continue along this path until we descend once more to the Cañada Real de Tauste, near the NA-120 road. From here, we descend gently along the Cañada for 3 km and, just before reaching the road, we take a new path that leads us back to the village of Lezaun.
