The Great Romanesque Route (North)
A circular cycle route through the north of Tierra Estella, taking in churches, chapels, castles and Romanesque heritage.
The northern section of the Great Romanesque Route is a circular route designed to be followed using GPS (it is not signposted) and completed in stages, by mountain bike or gravel bike. The route starts and ends in Estella / Lizarra.
This itinerary immerses visitors in the region’s medieval heritage, covering
virtually the entire northern perimeter of the Tierra Estella district. The route highlights the stylistic transition between the Romanesque and Gothic periods, showcasing the artistic and cultural splendour of medieval Navarre. This route connects a total of 11 points of architectural interest, including religious and military buildings.
