San Gregorio de Los Arcos
A circular cycle route between the Sierra de Cábrega, the Way of St James and the Basilica of St Gregory Ostiense.
The circular route starts at the Casa de Cultura in Los Arcos, following the same path as the Zobazo route for the first part, until we reach the vicinity of the Calvario chapel. At this point, we continue along the track and head away from the village of Los Arcos on the GR 1, towards the Sierra de Cábrega. After passing the Santa Teodosia chapel, we leave the GR and head towards the village of Desojo. After about 3 km, we turn right and climb up the southern slope to the heights of the Sierra de Cábrega, then descend the opposite slope to the village of Ubago.
In Ubago, we head towards Cábrega, where we can take a detour to visit the Encina de Cábrega natural monument. We continue towards Sorlada and climb once more until we reach the Basilica of San Gregorio Ostiense. We then head south, descending along paths and tracks until we reach the Camino de Santiago, which will take us back to Los Arcos.
