Muskilda
A circular route through the forests of Mount Muskilda, offering panoramic views, centuries-old oak trees and the natural surroundings of Villatuerta.
We start the circular route at the Villatuerta sports centre, heading towards the health centre. From here, we turn left and head south-east towards the village cemetery, which lies on the slopes of Mount Muskildia. Just after passing the cemetery, we take a track that climbs gently, skirting the edge of the mountain. After about 2 km, we leave the track and head into the woods along a narrow path. After about 600 m, we come out onto a wider path that takes us to the summit of Muskildia, where we are treated to a beautiful panoramic view.
Once here, we begin to descend along the path until we come to another narrower path branching off to the right, leading us to an area of ancient oak trees, where their trunks and size bear witness to their age. We reach the back of the cemetery and continue along the path to the left, down the hillside, until we come out onto the track we came along earlier. Finally, we turn left and follow it in the opposite direction until we return to the starting point in Villatuerta.
