The Castle of Mendavia
A circular cycle route combining heritage and scenery, passing by the archaeological site of El Castillar and Plana Hermosa.
We start this circular route, suitable for mountain or gravel bikes, at Mendavia Town Hall. First, we cross the village of Mendavia via Calle Estella and continue on our way, leaving the village in a north-easterly direction. Further on, we take a turn-off to the right to visit the El Castillar archaeological site, located on the Valoria hilltop.
We then head west and climb towards La Plana Hermosa, the highest point in the area. From here, we descend towards Mendavia and follow the River Mayor path back to the starting point at the Town Hall.
